Restrictions

Many JEHP students mistakenly believe that they are not a "full" student at Kennesaw State University. When you are accepted into the program and register for classes, you are officially a student. You may not be a traditional student, but you are a student and get all full rights and privlages (and some extra ones) as your average Kennesaw State University student. If you just go straight to class and car you'll be missing out! When exploring the campus don't forget these resources...

  • Wellness Center You can use the exercise equiptment on campus as much as you would like including weights, elipticals, swimming pools, and seminar health classes like yoga.
  • Clinic If over the age of 18, you can get free basic health care from the KSU clinic (Health Clinic). Basic tests and medicines are free. Even if not 18 yet but still a student, there is free ibprofen, generic Claritin and other medicines.
  • CAPS The CAPS center can help you find a job and can offer personal counseling. Counseling is open to be read by parents if under 18, and confidential if over 18.
  • Clubs The third floor of the Student Center houses the student organizations cubicle and that's only a few of the clubs that KSU offers. Some of these clubs require students to have a declared major, which Joint Enrollment students cannot do, and greek organizations usually will not accept students under 18 or still in high school, but most clubs are lots of fun and will look great on your college resume.
  • Events Pay attention to signs in the student center and on the concrete, because there are a lot of fun one time events on campus. Past events include getting a sketch of your face done by the art students, laser tag, and video game tournaments.

The only things you will be restricted from on campus, you'll find, are things that require you to be 18, you to have a certain major, or you to have a high school diploma and these are all few and far between. So be sure that while you're on campus you get out and have a full experience!
